The 59th PGA Merchandise Show brought together some 1,000 companies and brands along with more than 42,000 PGA Professionals, buyers and industry leaders from nearly 80 countries to introduce the latest in golf equipment, apparel, accessories and services, January 25-28, 2012, in Orlando, Fla.

Fun, optimism part of strong opening day for 59th PGA Merchandise Show
What if you threw a party and everybody came? You’d have something like the first day of the 2012 PGA Merchandise Show, where all of golf’s biggest companies turned out in full force to show their latest products to thousands of PGA Professionals and golf shop merchandisers at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., Jan. 26 – 28.
More than 1,000 companies welcomed thousands of PGA Professionals and golf shop buyers from more than 80 countries to the 59th Show. Attendees saw the latest in golf equipment, products and services, and apparel, as well as a number of high-profile guest appearances. Jack Nicklaus and baseball great Ken Griffey Jr. helped open the Show, and the rest of Thursday included appearances by 2012 U.S. Ryder Cup Captain Davis Love III, David Leadbetter, Michael Breed, Greg Norman, Butch Harmon, Natalie Gulbis, Lexi Thompson, Johnny Damon and Win McMurry. Barb and I left Port St. Lucie, Florida on a sunny, and cool morning in early January, and headed across Alligator Alley to Naples Florida. We decided to check out rumors that Naples has all the best that Florida has to offer, and then some. We hoped to meet great people; enjoy great accommodations, excellent restaurants, interesting places to visit, unusual boutiques, and terrific beaches. We arrived found the rumors were true!
Naples, smack on the Gulf of Mexico, is very popular with its full and part-time residents, not to mention ,visitors from around the world. Why? Well, it starts with Naples fine weather, and, like most of south Florida during the winter, it’s a place to enjoy outdoor pursuits that can be done in cotton T’s, while leaving the wool sweaters and long-johns in storage.
Florida has more than 2800-miles of ocean, Gulf and bay shoreline, hundreds of lakes and thousands of ponds and of course the “River of Grass” The Everglades. In south Florida you can view wildlife, go fishing and boating, diving or just laying out on the beach and barbequing yourself from raw to well-done ,and all shades in between. Continue reading
